The way I see it is that I'm just lucky I didn't chose a stricter tradition. Even from within the walls of their home, the women of the Ottoman harem chose to whom the sultan would marry and with whom he would have children, maintaining the dynasty for nearly 700 years. In the order of being, the Absolute in its absoluteless comes first in the logical (not the temporal) sequence of the beings. Presumably other postures are also okay, so criticisms about posture during dhikr is irrelevent. It was permitted, however, for women to converse with men and to look at them for recognized need.
